The day I arrived in Switzerland was perfect: not too cold, with clear views across Lac Léman. Since then it has been much colder, with an icy, strong wind most days. France, across the lake, has mostly been hidden from sight. Today, though, was another story.

We drove down to Montreux at the bottom of the lake in the early afternoon, went home for lunch, and in the late evening took the dog for a walk along the lake. The sun had just set, it was a balmy 11 degrees and there wasn’t a breath of wind. Using the available light, I shot these photos handheld.

    These are very nice. I love the Antiquites picture! The picture of the cheese shop (?) illuminated from within is another one of my favorites.
