Drive by shootings on the way to breakfast: extra-ordinary

On this World Food Day (not that that’s relevant) some friends asked us to join them for breakfast in Antananarivo itself. It is a mere 10km from home but we had to leave early because the drive can take anything from 50 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on how many carts, accidents and other traffic-stoppers there are out on the roads on a particular day.

This morning wasn’t too bad and it took us just over an hour. I shot a few photographs from the passenger seat. And yes, because of the freshly-planted rice paddies, it really is that green. Every time one takes this trip it’s different. Quite extra-ordinary.

These really are extraordinary, Rob. I loved most that fish-shop vendor looking right at you , so many fish piled up, and the old-fashioned radio/cassette player in the background. Awesome work. Hope breakfast was great too!
